Looking to experience some culture and nature on your vacation in Costa Rica? Banana Azul in Puerto Viejo might be just what you're looking for.

The hotel, built with local hardwoods has 12 beautiful guest rooms, all with private bath and free wireless internet to accommodate adventurous travelers looking for a comfortable, tranquil place to stay while visiting the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica.

The brand new pool and 8 person jacuzzi, which flows into the pool, are now open. Relax in the sun or under one of the new shade ranchos where you can sip a drink while looking out over the beach, garden, or jungle.

To get you started on your full day of activities, enjoy a full breakfast of fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, fruit juice, coffee and wide selections of teas at the Banana Azul Beachside Bar & Grill. Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 am until 10:00 am.

Coffee is ready at 6:30 am. Get a cup and take a early morning stroll on the beach in front of the hotel. You will most likely be the only one on miles of sandy beach.

Standard items like cheese burgers and fries, grilled chicken burgers, and different types of sandwiches are available for lunch. There is also a different lunch special everyday. Lunch is served everyday until 6:00 pm.

The dinner menu changes daily. In an effort to keep everything as fresh and affordable as possible, there is a fixed menu which is usually consists of chicken, beef or fish along with a vegetarian option.

The hotel's professional staff will assist you with anything you need, local information, bus schedules, taxis, international calls, etc.

Transfers from San Jose area hotels or San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport to hotels in the Cahuita / Puerto Viejo area are $190.00 each way, for a minivan with a capacity of up to 9 passengers. Approximate time from San José to the area is approx 5 hours.

Transfer from Juan Santamaría International Airport to any hotel in San José $35, including airport assistance, for a minivan with a capacity of up to 9 passengers.
